Voice... I have been singing all my life. In 2005 I performed for several venues and even tried out for Nashville Star. No, I’m not a professional. I just love to sing. But I started having problems sustaining notes. I noticed I had some sort of vocal fatigue, and I just couldn’t hit the same notes from week to week. I was advised to see an ENT doctor, who diagnosed me with nodules on both vocal cords. My options: surgery or play the wait and see game, hoping the body would re-absorb the nodules with time. I did leave the doctor’s office with a business card for a speech pathologist. After seeing the speech pathologist for several months I thought I was cured. But alas, I continued to have problems. A friend of mine had been taking vocal lessons at AZMP for quite some time and often suggested I give it a try. I finally gave in, and have been going ever since. This is my religion. I go weekly! Let me tell you…..For someone who loves to sing and would be lost without the ability to do so, Patrick and AZMP have given me back my life. Music is everything to me, and singing is my soul. Voice... I started off knowing only that I had a gift for singing, but was a stranger to my own gift. Not sure what to do with it and not sure how to use it I reached out to Patrick. Since September of 2007 Patrick has helped me to truly find my voice. Patrick is very knowledgeable in what he does. I have been working with Patrick for over two years now and my voice has really improved, and continues to improve the more I work. I was in choirs and school choral groups since I was pretty young; however, I did not begin lessons until late high school. Although I progressed quite a bit, I was still lacking the ability to shine in front of an audience. I started as a vocal student with Patrick in early June of 2005 and it is one of the BEST decisions I ever could have made!!! I have not only started strengthening my voice and expanding my range, but my confidence has also developed. Just after two different "live" performances with the Discover Your Voice/Music Project, I am learning to LOVE the crowd, whereas before, I was a real nervous wreck! Voice... I am a composer, music arranger and musician. However, my singing capabilities were far from adequate when I attempted to perform my original compositions. I sought help from Patrick Cunningham, whose services I discovered in the "New Times" classified advertisements. Within just 3 weeks, Patrick's training changed my singing style from what could only be termed as annoying and lacking in any entertainment value to being able to perform my original compositions with style, personal expression and audience appeal. The difference in my singing ability from BP (before Patrick) to AP (after Patrick) is like night and day. I now have confidence in my singing voice and I know I can perform my music vocally as well as instrumentally, thanks to Patrick's "crash course".
