Our performers say it better than we ever could...
coach, mentor, and friend...Patrick is a fantastic vocal coach. His unique and personalized one on one approach not only helped me to find my voice, but to get outside of my comfort zone and find myself. My love and appreciation for music, the art of performance, and songwriting have all grown because of Patrick. I consider him my coach, mentor, and friend.
undeniably monumental...The Arizona Music Project experience has been undeniably monumental in my son’s life. The professional coaching is accompanied with a side so personal that we feel as though we are part of a musical family!
Each lesson is designed specifically for the individual which leads them to attain personal goals at an appropriate level and pace. The success story written so far has opened doors for opportunities here in the valley and created an unlimited amount of options for his future! If any one has ever had a desire to develop their singing and/or performance skills, A-Z Music Project is the place to be! Patrick brings his years of teaching experience to beginners of all ages or enhancement to already seasoned vocalists. I highly recommend to all! Patrick isn’t one of them…I’ve been working with Patrick for over five years. He’s extremely good at zeroing in on anything preventing me from progressing in my vocal education. Instead of having a set formula for what to work on in each lesson, he adapts it to what I'm struggling with that day. For instance, the goal of a given lesson may be learning how to slide smoothly from one note to another, but if he hears my voice is constricted and tight that day, he will stop and address that first. There’s a big difference between someone teaching you how to sing and telling you how to sing, and many vocal teachers tend to try to alter their students style to fit a genre or fad - Patrick isn’t one of them. He will suggest ways to make a song fit your natural voice, not the other way around. There are also frequent showcases for students to publicly perform the songs they are working on and gain feedback, not only from Patrick and his wife Bonnie but from other students as well. I feel like there are resources at AZMP for any aspect of music I may want to go into in the future, whether it’s learning a new instrument or recording an album. On top of the excellent lessons, Patrick and Bonnie are wonderful people and sincere friends, and their advice is invaluable on-stage and off.

feel the energy and love...Is music important to you? Do you search for a song when you want to dance or cry or just when you're getting ready to go out? Did you create 30 playlists for yourself? Is it like therapy for you? Me too!
Arizona Music Project is the coolest place. If you're a techie-type audiophile, they have a lot of cool gear, but that's not what does it for me. As soon as I open the door, I feel the energy and love poured into AZMP by Bonnie and Patrick Cunningham. Even if I've had a bad day, after 5 minutes at AZMP, the stress lifts off of me. The first time I sang there, I was so nervous, but when I left I felt like a rock star. Bonnie & Patrick are accepting of where you are now, however you sing now, and at the same time, lead you to become a better singer, better than you thought you could sing. I've taken lessons for years now and I'm in awe of everything they both have taught me. You wouldn't think there's so much to learn about singing. :) This is about breathing, singing, sounding your absolute very best, not being afraid, connecting with an audience, feeling terrific about your performance and not being able to wait until your next time. Try it! |
Makes you want to learn…When I first started at AZ music project I was 16 and I thought I knew all I needed to know about singing. Once I started lessons with Patrick, I realized there was a whole other world I hadn't even discovered. I wasn't just taught how to be a good singer; I was also taught how to be a good performer. Bonnie and Patrick have really helped mold me into the singer I am today. Patrick's patience and humility as a teacher makes you want to learn and push yourself. Bonnie's eagerness to share whatever knowledge she has about a topic your interested in makes the environment that much more welcoming. Couldn't ask for anything better!
encouragement and wisdom...I joined AZMP at a time when I didn't know where I wanted my voice and presence as a musician to go. I wanted to become versed in new styles, then revisit old ones to enhance my technique. Patrick took everything that I already knew about vocal technique, health, the importance of breath, physical presence, and entrepreneurship and applied it to new challenges that taught me work ethic, vocal stamina, and self-confidence. I could not have achieved the milestones that have helped me get the best opportunities of my life without the encouragement and wisdom that both Patrick and Bonnie passed on to me.
